SLK/R170: Amplifier location

Amplifier location
Hi,
I have lost sound in the car, tried both the original stereo (audio 10) and a couple of years old Alpine stereo. Both seems to work fine, display is on, shows tuned stations or cd titles playing - but no sound.
All fuses also seems ok, so I have read that I should check the amplifier, but I don't find it.
Searched around, but all I have found so far is related to other models, so I am a bit stuck.
Any help will be highly appreciated !
