I am finally ready to buy the remote Vario mod for my SLK but I have one question for the maker.
Do you think it will be retrofitable into the new SLK as well?
I plan to trade mine in in about a year or so and et the new SLK350 or 55 AMG then.
I do know there is the ability to remotely operate the roof but it will be like the SL - you have to hold down the button for as long as the roof is operating. What a pain!

There is no way for me to know for certain; it may or may not. I'd love to be able to say that it will or even that it is likely, but I'd only be speculating.

I don't have the link handy, but I saw an on-line version of the owner's manual. The roof remote uses infrared. You must point the remote at a small IR window on the door handle and hold a button on the remote for the duration of the roof open/close cycle.

I can also draw the inference that the same circuitry type drives the other MB automobiles since that is how they all operate - including my C320 Sedan's summer feature.
