SLK 230 kompressor 1998 Head gasket
I'm in the process of changing head gasket and timing chain on my sons 1998 slk 230k. It has ca. 140' km on it, and blown head gasket. I have take it down and delivered the head to one of the best shop ther is. Pushers full of water, replace. Full valve job and all the acessories, guide plates, timing chain, gaskets, bolts, etc. set us back approx $2000,- (NOK 16000,- +).
I wonder if I shoud share the reassembly process. (The tear down process is to just to find my way, trial and error. It went very well however, as always, you know:-)
Assembly on the other hand might be interesting to someone)
Anyone interested?

Sure,
I removed my top end due a HG leak had it rebuilt. It was a while back, so I don't remember much, all I remember are the head-bolts being very tight. Some pictures would be nice if you have the time.

I'll try to take some pictures while putting it all together.(If I manage to upload them on this site:-) Beginning to morrow, well, have done some preparations today, washing and cleaning. Blow out watery oil from the oil channel that supplies the head, back to the oil filter. And blow out all water with oil from the water jacket surounding the sylinder bore. I had to drill out some of the head bolts so I'm very thorough about claening. Don't want any steel chips in the oil. And claned the top surface of the engine block. With WD-40 and fine abrassive and lot of time. Cleaned the top of the pistons as well.
