I bought a 1999 slk 230 yesterday, started it up fuel gauge needle went up to the full position ( first time I ever bought a used car like that ) about 30 miles from home that check engine light came on and the engine died, think that maybe the fuel pump went out I had the car towed.
today I put 5 gallons of gas in it and it fired right up. there is some sort of problem with the fuel reading...….any ideas ?
