I use a duffel bag. I throw it in the trunk, pull the curtain over it and if it protrudes into the tops area, I beat the duffel up until it fits below the curtain. Very low tech solution, and I really don't care what my clothes end up looking like at my destination.

Lotsa Room!!
We are able to fit 2 wheeled airplane carry-on suitcases side by side with the wheels toward the rear bumper. This still leaves room for extra stuff around the CD changer and the rear of the trunk where the cover flairs upwards.
