CEL p0170, p0130 codes
Hello everyone, new to this great site.
I am an owner of an 2001 SLK 230 and am having issues with the CEL coming on. Brought the car to the dealer ship and had them checked it out. They pulled the above codes and said the the O2 sensor need replacing and possible oil on the wiring harness that can be cleaned. However, they did not mention the p0170 code until bought my own OBD II at Wal-mart (at a suggestion of some posters here) and check the codes out myself. I have since change out the O2 sensor, but did not find any oil on the harness. I removed the MAF and cleaned it but the car still run in grandma mode (no acceleration or lack of). I have also noticed that on warm days (60F and above), the computer resets and I get my acceleration back.
Before I order the MAF, I would like some suggestions that I can look at first. Also, do the wire harness that lead to the sensor ever go bad? Any suggestion is much appreciated. Anh again, love the site.

I would replace the MAF. They tend to go bad and just cleaning them is not enough. Sounds like an intermittent fault or you may have a vacuum leak.

Ok, I put out some change here and no result. Could anyone tell me what else to look for? I reset the codes before the MAF installation and the new O2 was installed one week prior. Could the wire harness gone bad and need replacement? Any inputs are appreciated
