SLK/R170: Trunk not in locked position (roof problem)
When I put the roof back up I discovered that the trunk locking mechanism hasn't engaged and my trunk is "loose". I tried using the roof button to no avail. I suspect that the fluid level is too low to activate the roof to complete the cycle.
Is there any way to lock it manually?
I am referring to the two locks that need to be manually opened using the cable pulls...

However I'm not long off repairing my roof, so I'll leave any adjustment until after that has happened.
I suspect that doesn't help you though.
- Thanks for the input! Unfortunately, two of the actuators (6 in all) need to be replaced. There was only one bad one and it was not a mercedes OEM part! Somehow, this one failed and it was recommended that the one next to it be replaced at the same time because it was taking the load of the bad one for some time. Expensive fix and I looked into having them rebuilt but the cost was almost the same as new OEM from Mercedes, so not worth it. Hopefully I won't have any more problems for a long time.
