Thumbs up Kleemann pulley kit

I bought the pulley kit from Kleemann and got it installed this weekend. Bolt on power, I'm impressed. No problems, no power "hole" at 3,000 RPM. It took about 2 hours to install, most of that time was spent trying to figure out how to get the alternator pulley off. Otherwise the parts all fit well and everything went together as expected.

I don't plan to put the car on a dyno, all the increases are strickly "seat of the pants." It is definitely quicker!!

KLEEMANN, what about pulley kits for the C32 and SLK32? Are they available? What are the specs/prices? I've looked at the web site and couldn't find anything useful.

What trick did you need to figure out to get the Alt. pulley changed?

I bought a 12 point, 10mm internal socket to fit inside the alternator shaft to hold it while I put a 22mm socket on the nut. The idea was to put the 12 point through the socket and hold the socket with a pair of vice grips. My vice grips weren't big enough to hold the socket while trying to break the nut loose. I finally took the splash pan off so I could get to the alternator from the bottom, which is much easier. Then I held the alternator pulley with a chain wrench and took the nut off. Either way should only take about 30 minutes, though it took me about an hour to determine that the vice grip idea wasn't going to work. Then I spent more time with various tools before I tried holding the pulley with the chain wrench.
