SLK/R170: Need help identifying missing electrical components
Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the forum, and as of right now I don't own a Mercedes. I'm looking at purchasing an SLK32 AMG that's got some issues.
I couldn't figure out why it wasn't starting, and after doing a little digging, I found what appears to be several missing electrical components, and a lot of heavy corrosion on some of the plugs.
I don't have any idea what is missing, as I don't have anything to reference it to.
Here's a link to the Imgur album that shows what I could find so far. https://imgur.com/a/WlsMPOf
I was wondering if someone would be able to help me identify these components, so I can see about replacing them.
I was also hoping to see if I might be able to find a factory wiring diagram, or something that might help me moving forward.
I'm also trying to see if there is a source for used modules and components like this.
Years ago I had an Audi that needed a TON of parts, and managed to get hooked up with ForceFiveAuto out of New Hampshire, and there were an amazing resource for Audi and WV parts.
If there's something like that for MB, I'd appreciate the referral.
Thanks,
Matt

the module that is being held is the "body control module" (controls convertible top, windows, etc). I am fairly certain that this is readily interchangeable between all versions (slk32, slk320, slk230) and likely all years. If you look for it (on ebay for example) under its MBZ part number (170 820 09 26), you will find it for as little as $80
the module in the background (on the carpet) appears to be the ECU for the motor. This will be unique to this vehicle (in that it is VIN coded AND physically different that non AMG versions) replacement could be very expensive. IF you found a used unit from another SLK32, it is possible that you could send it off to be "virginized" and then re-married to this car. For reference, its part number is 112 153 63 79.
in the next pic, all I can see is that both of the modules in the first pic have been removed.
This slk32 would need to be emaculate and less than $5000 (more like less than $3000) to be even considered a good deal .
If this car has been in a flood (kinda looks like it) then it is likely ONLY good for parts (and you should run away).
Hope that helps,
Chris
