Blower Motor Brushes

Sorry - reposted because I couldnt change the subject heading
------------------------------------------------
Fan stopped - Finally I thought I had a problem with the resistor.....
Checked fuse - ok
Checked the signal from the switch = ok....
Put 12V across the blower terminals - starts up ok
Ordered bargain 25dollar Control resistor
-----------------------------------------------
Resistor arrived yesterday
Installed -
Problems....fan would always run - even without the key in the ignition!!!.....
Reading....
Seems like this isn't the first cheap controller to do this.....But....
-----------------------------------------------
In doing so I noticed the fan started working .....intermittently......
Found the wires plugging into the motor were dodgy....
Still couldnt control with the new resistor - but could with the old one - although patchy due to the plug
Gave the spade fits a bit of attention - however.....I cant get a solid and consistent connection
Too lazy to take the motor right out at this stage ....
QUESTION - If the brushes are worn do they connect directly onto these spade fits and hence
by jiggling the wires you can make or break the brush contact?

It would seem - I can get the wires in a subtle spot where the fan will work fine - but that will only last so long.
I guess I'll have to pull this fan right out and hopefully find some brushes - sources appreciated

I checked the ohms between the 3 posts on the resistor

I checked the ohms between the 3 posts on the resistor...
0.96 (as per photo for the suspect resistor - whereas the working resistor on my slk32 was 4.5Ohms
The other posts didn't show any continuity.
