Raise & lower top with remote?

Hi Everyone

I'm a new SLK owner (1998, 230), and this is my 1st post (after lurking and learning for a while).

Is there a mod that would allow me to raise and lower the top using my keyless entry remote?

Thanks in advance...

Silver ... my fav colour for a MB. Though the yellow looks good too ... always liked yellow cars, almost bought a yellow S2000.

Hey Ellisbailey!

I see them frequently on Ebay.de and I believe it's a lot cheaper.
I'm not German but I think it's called "dachmodul". (not sure if spelling is correct) check it out.

Hi Neicey

Yes, bought it and installed myself. Love it ... works like a charm. A slick charm. Even just being able to push and release the inside button is nice...

Install was pretty straightforward but took a few hours. Install guide is available on the internet from their site http://frontiernet.net/~dbipes/SLK/remote/index.htm
if you want to take a look.

formymercedes.com says
"The BVRC can be installed as a "Do It Yourself" project, but does require stripping and splicing of wires. If you do not have the skill, time or interest for this installation, use a professional service, such as an alarm installation or car audio shop to install the BVRC for you.

and I'd agree 100%. Let me know if you have anymore questions and I'll do my best to answer.

How do you like your manual 320? I've decided thats what I want (instead of the auto 230) ... baring a lottery win and a new 350 :-)

Hi
You don't even need that kit, simply purchase a alarm that has the function of being able to roll up/down power windows and hook it up to the convertable top switch instead of the window switch. If you want to save a ton of money and have a alarm that looks like it should be over 1k (the remote, being a flip open and two way with remote start) I would suggest going on ebay and typing in thor. I put two of these on two different cars and they both worked great for as long as was around the cars (about a year) and I think now you can get that alarm under 100$ If thats not your route, they have viper alarms at almost any car stereo place that has that feature.

Thanks for replying - I will purchase it - my husband is good at wiring and should be ok. I love the 6 speed, it's a great toy. But my E 320 is actually faster. I know I'm going to get some grief about this, but check the stats.
