head swap
i dont own a slk but i have a crossfire, so same motor. i post over at crossfireforum.org, and while filled with good people, there arent too many people with extensive mechanical knowledge (myself included) so i thought i would post my question here as well. as many of you already know the slk350 engine pretty much kicks ***, and alot of it has to do with the new and improved head with dual overhead cams and variable valve timing. what exactly would be involved with a head swap from the 3.5l to the old school 3.2 we have. i need more power, and i know head swaps from different sized motors can be done, but im not sure about it in this application. i need to be able to beat econobox's no matter how much my car wasnt made for that. whats wrong with wanting more power?

Actually it is since they were bought out by them. They also share the same platform as the 320 slk.
Well anything can be done if you have the money. But I would looking into a kleeman supercharger. It will be the same price as a head swap or even cheaper. And you would get over 40% hp and tq gains. I would look in to that.
