SLK 320 2001 Dome Light staying on
It's a 2001 SLK 320.
I am having a problem with the dome light not turning off when it is in automatic mode.
I am assuming that the car thinks there is a door open.
Is there a switch in the trunk?
If so how do I get to it and where is it?
Or does soneone think there is another problem?
Can any one help with this?

Short of that, you might try locking the car (with the fob) and if the dome light stays lit for a while THEN try opening the trunk WITHOUT unlocking car with fob. The thought here is that if the R170 believes a door is not shut, it will set the alarm on the other door and trunk only ... this would likely hold true for the trunk SO ... this might confirm that switch in the trunk is NOT working if you can open it with NOT sounding the alarm (while the alarm is set).
But MUCH easier to just use a proper tester.
