rear view mirror
Good morning all, what is the wire does thats connected to the rear view mirror? My rear view mirror is rattleing, I know how to take it off the base, I think t would be easier if the wire was not there to be able to bend the metal brace that locks with the base,

If you have the auto-dimming mirror, the wire is for power. You can fairly easily disconnect the wire by removing the dome light and unplugging it.
If you disconnect the wire the mirror will no longer auto-dim, but you can replace it with a manual mirror for fairly cheap.

If you don't have the dimming mirror, I'm not sure what wire you're seeing, so I would recommend pulling the dome light and seeing if you can find where the wire goes and disconnect it. Once it's disconnected, you should be able to remove the mirror and adjust the bracket.
I just had to re-glue the metal button to the windshield after it fell off so I have a small tip for you for re-mounting the mirror:
You gotta keep constant pressure on the mirror base while turning it. If you don't, the base will turn and it'll seem like it's connected, but it'll be loose as ****. You can tell if the mirror is mounted properly because turning it will be hard as **** to turn. If the base turns easily, it's not mounted correctly.
