Head Gasket SLK230......

SLK230 - Is there any other way to get water in your oil other than a leaky head gasket?

Water leak outside the engine on #4 cylinder?
M111 engine is notorious for blown head gasket.

Is it an ez inexpensive job for an average DIYer with 40years practice....?
I C ebay has some for a couple of hundred including what appears is some gaskets etc.

The reason I asked is that my V6 M112 motor may have been contaminated via the oil/water oil cooler on the filter housing.
So there may have been another way that I'm missing

Don't know about M112. I've been driving my M111 with leaking head gasket for 100K miles.
I just keep topping up the coolant, and replacing the oil more frequently and now at 254K miles and
running very good.
Likely not worth fixing if I could find an engine with low(er) miles in good shape.
I've done a lot fo research on doing the job, but car work seems to get harder as I get older.
So, I am nervous about doing the job. Too many things to go wrong and no one near me that works on Mecedes.
I would not buy a gasket kit off ebay.
Get it from the dealer and you will need new head bolts as well.
