help! need to replace rotor

slk 230 1998------I changed my front brake pads, and went to put on new rotors. I took off bolt to free rotor and then turned steering wheel to pull off Rotor... that didn't work, not enough room to slip off. Do I need to take off the two bolts behind caliper holder?? I tried and they are super tight... any help would be great thanks.

I recently removed my rear rotor, and I do not think it possible to be removed without first removing the caliper.

You shouldn't use penetrating oil. Just use some muscle and a larger wrench. They normally have thread locker on them.
