soundproofing

I love my slk, but I wish the road noise was less. I was thinking about adding some special sound dampening foam to the roof. Even behind the seat to the right. Any suggestions

I believe actually the noise being mentioned here is the wind noise.

The two damping systems linked to do not stop wind noise.

The wind noise is created by the roofs really poor aero dynamics.

Also the roof and the window alignment needs to top notch to keep the wind
noise down.

One option I haven't tried is noise cancellation devices that fit to your audio system.

This can work extremely well, in fact I saw one reviewed on TV and the results were amazing. ( was not in a merc though! ) The wind and road noise just disappeared to nothing!

I'll do some googling now to see if I can find something...

Mark
