I have a '99 slk 230 with out any modifications. I think it is a good idea for me to relocate the MAS, even without any mods. The slk will accelarate quicker. What do you guys think?

 

I relocated mine (same year) and it did make the acceleration a bit smoother. Not the lag around 3k RPM.

 

Where did you relocate yours? What did you use for material?

 

I relocated mine per the instructions provided by linh. Drop him a PM. I would send you the instructions but I can not find them. It is not difficult. Just a little bit of time to file the ridge off of the plastic tube so that it fits correctly. Try this or do a search for MAS Relocation.

Hmm.. since its next to impossible to get hold of linh does anyone else have the pics of the MAS relocation?

 

It doesn't look to difficult. Some clamps, hose extensions, aluminum pipe. If you do a MAS relocation search on benzworld.com, you'll find some pics.

 

To relocate the MAS for the 1999, all you need to do is reverse the existing plastic pipe and file the lip off. I added a hose clamp to the bottom end of the tub to use the two existing clamps to hold the tub in. Very simple.
