Ipod In The Slk

I was wondering if anyone has installed any type of ipod integration into their SLK? If so, what brand, product, and how did you install it.

With the mp3 adaptor, the user won't have the stereo's controls, ie fader, balance, volume, bass, treble. Is this correct?

Alpine has a very good alternative that allows you to use the head unit controls to control the iPod. You do not have to mess with the iPod at all; you just hook it up and put the iPod out of sight. Plus, it allows you to use the controls on the steering wheel. You can check out the adapter at Crutchfield or on the Alpine website.

There are lots of options if you're willing to swap out the head unit. There are few options if you want to keep the stock SLK radio.

Ipod Nano and Mp3 adapter

This adapter seems ideal for me, as I want to keep the stock head unit on my car. It seems cheap and easy to install, however my concern is that the Mp3 Adapter is stored behind the storage compartment (the one behind the gear shift and next to the ashtray), and with the vibrations when driving it is likely that there will be noises. Have any of you installed the adapter and noticed anything? Maybe wrapping it up in some cloth could solve this problem?
