Trunk Wiring

On the left hand side of the trunk, there's a plastic cover. If you lift that up, there's some wiring underneath..some optical stuff and maybe some power cords. Any idea what this would be used for? In trunk subwoofer?

Also, are there any nettings or anything else to help maximize the trunk space there is... space either side of the DVD Nav unit, or maybe some bags that could clip to the sidewalls or something?

As far as I know USA cars are prewired for options they dont even always use.

As for storage capacity you could look into some cargo nets from Mercedes. These tend to help keep things from rolling around.
