Angry Close Hood / Bonnet Error Code

So, after 12,800 wonderful miles (with only a rock induced windshield replacement a month ago), I had the first A service done yesterday.

As part of the service I did ask that they look at the hood alignment, since another post on this forum showed many hoods extend a little out, most visible from the side looking at the center star. Mine did ever so slightly. That post said it was an easy adjustment, but the dealer said no and he couldn't adjust it.

All was well until I started away from the dealer and the error code in red came up to close the hood/bonnet.

I pushed it down, tried again, then opened it completely and closed it and it still showed a problem.

They took it back in the shop and said something about the service calling for lubing the latch or pad where a sensor was that now wouldn't clear.

They kept the car and gave me another loaner C230. If they can't resolve it today, the latch or pad part with the sensor will be in Thursday. I will post updates as I get them...miss my baby...

So Motzkoman, do you think it a weird coincidence, or that they in fact did mess with the hood alignment? Did you get a chance to look closely, had it changed?

I did look at it and it did not look like it had changed...the way the service order was written, I almost think the technician thought I was asking about the alignment of the star rather than the hood (they came back with hood star not adjustable).

Maybe it is the lube in an area of sensor...we'll see what they have to say today...

I had the same problem, brought it in and they only took 15 min to fix it. Apparently on my the little black plug (sensor?!) next to the catch was damaged and they just changed that part.
