WTF? A 350 badged as a 280
An SLK 350 Designo edition that I had been waiting for arrived yesterday, but when I go to the dealer today to see it, it is badged as a 280! It has a 350 window sticker, as well as the tires which are supposed to be on a 350. Has anyone ever heard of this? The dealer is offering to merely "order a new badge".
BTW, did anyone see "Entourage" this past Sunday, where Ari was caught switching his wife's S500 badge for a 600 badge? I couldn't stop thinking about that episode.

That is wrong
You might want to have the engine checked out before you accept the car, 268hp and 228hp, 0-60 in 5.4 sec and 6.1 sec, is a huge difference. If you are paying for a 350, that is what you should get. Hope they made a mistake and a new badge is all you need.

I would definitely investigate carefully before buying. It could be the wrong badge got put on at the factory, or afterwards, for some innocent reason.
But the first thing that comes to mind is that the car may have had some body/paint work done. I've experienced first-hand and heard similar stories from other people- body shops don't always know the models, and stick the wrong badges on after doing paintwork.
