did anyone hear about a recall on the climate control unit. I went to the dealer to get my service A. He told me there is a recall on the climate control unit. He has to order parts. That was aBout three weeks ago. Haven't heard from them since. but anyway did anyone encounter this.

On a related note, my cigarette lighter doesn't work. Not the outlet but the lighter itself. How does that even happen? I've owned a 1974 El Camino that still had the original lighter.

 

StevoDaDevo, I had the same problem. I plugged in my cell phone charger and there was no power. Brought it into the dealer and they took care of the problem right away.

 

Anything for the 06 55's?

Veils: The 06's don't have enough info out on them, at least I couldn't find anything.

 

I love this one. Of course you can't unlock the glove compartment lid. You can't LOCK it either because there's no friggin' lock!


If anyone DOES have a lock, kindly tell me where it is. My service advisor couldn't find one either.

 

According to the (UK) manual, the glove compartment locks and unlocks automatically when the doors are locked and unlocked.

 

The glove compartment locks and unlocks automatically when you have the roof down and lock the car.

Those of you who are "looking" for a lock - keep looking.... it's automatic.

There is no key, but there is a lock. It is part of the pneumatic locking system that locks the glove box, the lower armrest compartment and the upper armrest compartment, the fuel door (and perhaps the trunk, though that may be electrical).

Just sit in the car with the doors shut (doesn't matter top up or down) and use your key fob (in your hand not inserted in the ignition) and press lock. Then try to open your glove box (or armrest).

Note, the one compartment that does not lock is the upright compartment above the armrest.
