I'm trying to figure out where the ECU for my 2005 SLK350 is located, please help, I looked in the fust box and it's not there. Please if anyone can give me a detailed description or photos, please let me know.

ECU stands for (Engine Control Unit), I found out how to take the ECU out so please disregard this question. I will try to upload pictures next week. Its actually located under the air intake manifold, a very simple task, easier then I imagined, I was doing things the hard way, while Mercedes made it extremely easy. The ECU was staring me in the face the entire time. Its that middle silver rectangular shaped thing right in the middle of the Mercedes cover (in reality that cover is the air intake manifold).

My original ECU was remapped, I didn't replace the original ECU. To be honest I can't really tell since I didn't really push my SLK350 prior to getting the upgrade. The first day I tried it out something didn't seem right so I removed the airbox again to make sure the airfilters are in correctly, I then tightened the ducts and after trying the car again I feel that there is an increase in power, however I upgraded my wheels to 18" chrome SLK55 wheels with PS2 tires at the same time as replacing the airfiters and having the ECU remapped, I will probably dyno the car soon. This way I will know for sure. If I do dyno the car you guys will be the first to find out the results. I know that whenever you do modifications your supposed to dyno the car as well but since all this was done (by me) in my garage its a little tough. I will try to dyno the car this week.
