What about the bike?
I've recently ordered my new SLK350. Will do a European Delivery in Mar '06.
I'm really excited about the SLK, and this will be my first MB.
There is only one thing I forgot to think about until recently....I need to be
able to haul my bicycle around! My friend has a Mazda Miata, and had a light
duty tow hitch installed, to allow a bike rack to be attached.
But with the SLK roof mechanicals, I don't know if this will work?
Has anyone out there figured out a way to transport a bicycle with an SLK?

I have never tried it, nor would I. But if you must carry a bike, under no circumstances would I attach anything to that roof. I took one look at it opening and closing and decided to buy the extended warranty. It works beautifully, but obviously relies on precise alignment of parts. Straining it with a rack would be asking for trouble.
My guess would be that there would be some kind of trunk mounted rack you could put on it-- one of those suction cup and strap type things. Or I suppose there is some way to attach a trailer hitch (yikes!), and then use a rack designed for that. But that would really put a lot of weight extending out the back of the car; I don't think it would drive very well.
