Clicking Noise

I have an 05 with command not navigation & 6 speed manual. I hear a clicking noise from behind the dash, anyone else have it or knows what it could be. Sounds like it is coming from behind the radio area.

Is it still there when the radio is turned off? At least you could eliminate the audio system. There is a service bulletin out about clicking noises from the stereo.

is it the fan?

I had the same sound last winter on my clk, when it was extremelyu cold. (-20C) i was told by the dealer that when the temp get very low, the fan parts get "brittle". and it's bearing does not move as smooth. they did not do anything about it since it works fine most of the time.
