I have two large symmetrical dents in the exterior of the hardtop above each passenger head area, right where the rear cover or flaps rest on top of the roof in the stowed position. As if there is excessive pressure on the top when stowed. Anyone else seen this?

I use mine often and checked for any signs.... none noted. Nothing on MB recall listing. Any word from your local service rep?

Not me. Did you ever have a time when you heard "unnatural" sounds coming from the roof during operation? Given the hydraulics (and the speed at which the parts move), it's more likely that something was in the way that it began pressing with a good deal of pressure. And about the only thing (in the mechanism) it could press against AFAIK is the rear shelf.Originally Posted by jerineha

If you operate the roof to the point where the rear shelf flips up and then stop, you might be able to compare the location of the indentations with the bits on the underside of the shelf... ?
