hmmm... not quite sure that's the case.

Less then 300,000 Z3's were produced, and the Z4 has been failing quite badly in regards to other BMW models.

The first model SLK sold well over 300,000 copies (actually, closer to 400,000), and the new SLK has been outselling Z4's by a considerable number.

Although the facts are correct, Glauser mercedes here in Colorado can't seem to keep them on the showrorom floor, it's still very rare to see a SLK, AMG or not especially during the winter. I still see alot of Z4's and boxsters driving around on nice days but SLK's are nowhere to be found.

Z4 is indeed failing quite badly, they are selling fully loaded ones for $13-14K off MSRP. I could have brought a slightly used S2000 and a Z4 for the price I'd paid for my SLK. Okay that was bad, what was I thinking

BMW has been quite sensitive to the falling Z4. That is why there is the M-coupe and also why they will have their folding hard-top roadster for 2008.

You're absolutely right... sort of... There were less than 300,000 Z3s produced IN THE US, all of which stayed here. There were about 390,000 R171s, all produced in Germany, only a small percentage of which actually made it to the US...

I mean 390,000 R170s were produced, and I mean NEARLY all of the Z3s stayed in country. My mistakes...
