SLK/R171 Interested in your slk experience

Interested in your slk experience

Hi there,

I ordered a new 06 slk350 about seven weeks ago (obsidian black/brown nappa leather-heating pkg,pp, entertainment sans nav). Needless to say the wait is agonizing. I'm curious what other owners experiences have been with the new car. In particular, I'm interested if anyone else is driving the six speed man. (I'm a throwback). Anyone else have the brown nappa leather? I'd so much appreciate your advice.

Thanks! FYI my previous ride was a saab 9-3 aero conv.

WOW is the word. My wife and I have had our SLK 350 since the first week of December. Four months and the newness hasn't worn off. We're eagerly awaiting constant warm weather for more top down driving. The car is my wife's. She alternates between it and her Cadillac CTS. Some weeks she only drives the SLK one or two days. Interesting, she drove the SLK five straight days this week. It was even warm enough for top down driving two days. We purchased the SLK used (944 miles) and had to wait one day to pick it up. I can imagine the ordering/waiting process could be agonizing. However, when ordering, you get exactly what you want. We were fortunate to find a used 2006, low mileage, right color, six speed, NAV and Sirius, at a great price. If this car had an automatic, I wouldn't have considered it. I wouldn't consider an automatic IF I had a choice. I'm fortunate, my wife also likes a manual. We both LOVE

the SLK. It's the neatest, classiest, and most fun vehicle we've ever had. I realize it's just a car, but so far, it's been a great car.

2 days in my SLK and I love it. I'm still in that stage where I am afraid to take it many places because I dont want to park it and get it dinged though. Its been in the upper 70s to low 80s and sunny so the tops been down the entire time. I love this friggin car.

Becuase I did ED around the 1st of Sept, I was one of the first to get Nappa Brown other than the launch edition. I love it (esp w/ firemist red)

I bought a launch edition and love it. Leather is super and is better than my S class (my opinion) but then so is the car! Haven't been out in it much lately with all the rain and flooding here but nice now so out it comes.... I agree with others, the newness hasn't worn off yet... !!
