FFS Big files posted in the forum !! You don't have a clue. Get yourself a photobucket type account and just post the link. You can still get feedback from the members in the forum.

Yeah, I'm the same way, I like it better if the pics show, instead of clicking on each individual links to get them, especially when I had that many pics, human reactions would probably clicked 4/5 times, after that it stops clicking.

thanks, yes those are piecha's aerowings, they are of high quality, highly recommended, worth a million bucks to me but I don't think I'll get that at resale.

Ynot, I too enjoy the pics w/o having to go thru a link, but for people with less than fast broadband you could help (if you are going to post a good number of pics) and compress them more. For web viewing you can't really tell the difference.

Here is your original (pic#1) at ~300KB and here is the same one (sized to a standard 800x600) compressed more, resulting in about a ~60KB size.

Don't think anyone could tell the diffence in quality. So your posts of 21 pics that was >6MB download would have been around a 1.3MB download.

later....

Size is 317KB

Next one is 65KB.
Attached Thumbnails More pics. :D-img0180ck0-medium-.jpg

thanks for the tip blofin, I did that for the last set of photos and it didn't turn out right, it seems a bit compressed, it didn't look good at all so, I decided to
do it right this time by going to 1024x683

here's what I mean, at 800x532, look at the wheels, it looks out of focus, compressed too much. I gave the other benz forum a 56K warning, I didn't do it with this site. I guess I should have.

Ynot, hmmm, not sure what happened to that one, but yes way over compressed. Your are seeing JPG compression artifacts ("jaggies").

As you know there are two things you can do to pics. Resize them (ie. make them smaller like 800x600). Resizing in general will NOT cause pics to lose much quality (talking about web posting, not printing). The other is the file compression (sometimes called JPEG quality). This can introduce the quality errors yours has.

Not sure what program you used. I'm on my work computer and don't have any of my better photo tools, I just used the Windows XP Resizer PowerToy (free from MS). As you can see in the example I did, even though the pic was half the file size of your example, it did not have the quality issues.

Trying playing around with the JPEG quality in your program, or use a different program.

I was using Microsoft Photo Editor on Windows 2000, that was the only software I had at work to resize, it did an awful job of resizing. Another thing was I had ppl ask if they could use my pics as wallpaper and I thought 800x600 is a bit small for that purpose nowadays.
