Anyone have TSB P-27-60-61D done for rough 2-1 downshifts?
My 06 SLK is having a decidedly rough 2-1 downshift (7 spd auto) when coasting to
a stop. I saw this TSB (P-27-60-61D) for this exact same issue and was wondering
if anyone out there had this done to their SLK and if so, any issues with it and how long
was it in the shop for? TIA.

I have an early '05 SLK55 and had it done. It is a software upgrade, and some of the earlier trans control modules are not capable of accepting the upgraded software. So the dealer also had to replace the control module. It did soften the downshift, which was especially abrupt when the engine and transmission were dead cold in cold weather. The repair was completed in one day, but apparently to save a few dollars they did not replace the transmission pan gasket (they should have, given that the pan had to be removed to change the module). So I found a small puddle of trans fluid on my garage floor every day and had to bring the car back to the dealer again. They changed the gasket and everything is fine now.

rough 2-1 downshifts
I am experiencing the same condition on my 2002 ML 320. Any idea if this TSB applies to other models? I've had it to the stealer twice for this. First time of course NTF. Second time, I took the tech with me and demonstrated the rough downshift a dozen times, but then they couldn't duplicate it later without me, so no fix. They said there were no software updates that were available, but here is a similar problem. Just wondering....
