I have had my SLK350 since December 2004. I still enjoy driviing it every day (ie the thrill is not gone). Lately, I have been wondering if I should have purchased the SLK55 from the start. Is the extra $15K-20K worth it? Just wanted some thoughts.

That's a good question. Yea, I say when in doubt, go with the SLK 55. If you can afford the extra $15,000 to $20,000, spend the extra amount and get the top dog. I'm in the same dilemma. The SLK 350 is really my wife's car. I want to get a new 2008 SLK 55 or SLK 63. If she gets the 55 or 63, she would never appreciate the car like I would. Not sure what I'll do. I agree with you, I want more! There are many wonderful deals on used SLK 55s. Depending what changes occur with the 2008, I'll make my decision. Not everyone wants a SLK 55 or even the SLK 350. The SLK 280 is a great car, less power, but a great bargain. I like everything about the SLK 280 other than the 16" wheels. So many choices.
For some of us the SLK 350 is all that we can use. I can well afford an SLK 55 or even an SL 65 but living in a close in suburb of Chicago affords me very few opportunities to use more H.P. than my 350 has.
