If i was a *****, I would of replied with some nasty thoughts on MercedesCLK5's ride... but damn his car looks good!
I had a CLK320 just before my R171 and had the same black rims i currently have on my SLK.

Hey MercedesCLK5, you can voice your opinion... I have no issue with that. But i am not a fan of people doing it in a rude manner. Thats all.

-1- , as always i know you got my back... good upgrades or bad. Thnx.

where did you get those clear side markers?

noregret4life,

Nice mods... looks awesome.

I have a silver 350, and those clear side markers in on the front would look good on my car, where did you get them? If anybody knows where I can get them in CA, feel free to chime in.

Thanks.

2006 SLK280.
look great Lenny. I love the exhaust (that is why i bought one of you ) .
im really sorry to say tho, that im not a fan of the painted rear lights. i like standard tinted plastic, but not painted. I have seen it done many times and too a very high quality as i am sure yours are, but it just aint my cuppa tea. But if you like it, good on you. at least you aer daring to be different in that you have alot of individual modifications to your slk.
keep up the good work!!

Yeah, I'm using the oem bulbs. They do look pretty dim (yellow) when lit.

Still looks pretty nice lit. I suppose you order it online, and they mail it to you. Did you guys have to install it yourself, is it pretty easy?

go to benzworld.org. go to r171 forums. do a search for 'Clear side marker lens'. go to thread #16. there are pictures and great instructions. you do not need to remove bumper. you have to turn your wheels either left or right depending on side of car. you need a torx#20 screwdriver.hope this helps

Jbanks15 is right. If you do a search, I had posted detailed instructions on how to do it. I was one of the first to swap the side markers out. It really isn't that hard, once you know how. You do have to remove the wheel well plastic, but that's fairly easy. You have to contort your arm uncomforably to get at the screws, but it's not that bad. Took about twenty minutes per side. And compared with the orange, well, there's no comparison. I say do it.

thanks for the feedback everyone.

Yeh, the rear tail lights tinted are a huge step. But now after a few washes they are actually lighter then they appear in the pics. So there is red/black tint. and they are see through, not flat painted.

i must say though, the best upgrade was the exhaust! hands down... the quad pipes and the tone... worth every penny, and at the price i am selling them... hands down the best deal
