Hey all,
I first introduced myself in another thread asking about whether or not I should get the heat package in the SLK. Yesterday my buddy had to go take care of some paperwork for his new E class and asked me to go to the dealer w/ him. I went and in the showroom was a Black on Beige 350 and I told her I had to have it today. Long story short. I traded my '06 M3 for this '07 SLK350. I was going to save a little money by going with the 280 but just couldn't handle the significant power decrease coming from the E46 M3. But, the 280 is a fine motor.

I spent all day and night driving the 350 and love it. Car looks great and handles really well too. Love the hardtop. I look forward to hanging out here on the forums. I'll post pics today.

Welcome to the family, I'm surprised you are happy with the speed coming from an e46 M3, the SLK55 is faster. Anyway, congrats on your new purchased.

Welcome to the forums joetarin, congrats on your new ride and I think you will enjoy the heating package. Before I saw the color combo up close and personal, I would have never guessed I would have a black / beige SLK in my garage. My wife wanted beige interior, and I wanted red exterior to go with it. After seeing my car with the wood trim and 17" wheels, I knew it was "the car."

Joe, WOW, talk about impulse buying. The SLK is love at first sight. I did basically the same thing in Nov 05. Saw a used 2005 SLK Launch Edition at the local dealer. Told my wife, we went back that evening and made an offer that was rejected by the dealer. Took me two weeks to find another SLK 350 which we bought. Tons of great people and information to gain from the three MB forums. See ya round.

I had something similar happen to me to. I was about to purchase a new BMW M3 but decided to get a MB SLK350 with all the options ticked simply because of the SLR-ness of this vehicle. I sometimes wished perhaps a 55 would be better but I have been reconvinced that I already own the dream car, the SLK350.

I will be awaiting the arrival of the new SL models and specifically and AMG model, nope I won't ever trade my SLK350 in for anything. It is unlikely the new SL will have a nose like the SLK and SLR and move towards a CL oriented nose. I'm definately keeping this baby.

Congradulations, Good thing setting an objective for the upcoming SL amg variants it supposed to be a good car as AMG doesnt dissapoint.
