I'd say in 2011 as a 2012 model, seems like a long way off but that is the 7 model year span.

yea, that's a reason i like MB, their style last at least 10 years

just like my family first S-Class W140, although is 13 years old but style is still here

R170 went from 96 to 04... That's 8 years (although closer to 7 since it came out late 96 and ceased production in early 04... or maybe it was in late 03).

I'd say the current SLK will run the same 7-8 years, although with the more competitive automotive market out there these days, cars run for smaller and smaller production years with new models coming out increasingly quickly. I bet we'll see a new SLK in the Geneva car show in 2010 or 2011 with a release 6-12 months later.
