Here's the pic you requested. Not sure about luggage pieces, but there's plenty of room in the SLK trunk with the top up or down. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Enjoy the new SLK.

Dont worry about that, me and my wife drove to Spain (tot 5500 km) from Sweden in July, 1 halfbig bag, and 2-3 smaller, enough for 2 persons for 2 weeks.

Trunk volume 300 litres or 7 cu ft.
I asume that this when roof is down. Smallest space.
Don't know how much if roof is up.

Very nice , I've read that many are perfectly comfortable driving long distances with the SLK for vacation and from top of my head fellow member Shinigami comes to mind.

SLK55 Kleemann, I hope you dont mind posting more pictures of your sweet pair of lotus and the SLK.

As a practical matter, if you want to put the top down, then you are talking about two airline carry on size bags, a small bag like a computer laptop carrying case, and a few small extra items on the side. Don't plan on any significant space in the cockpit; there really isn't any.

If you are willing to keep the top up, you could probably almost double that.

Here's two pictures of what my wife and I carried on a 2000 mile trip through Germany, Switzerland, and France in 2005. Plenty of space. But then again we both used to be international flight attendants and are accustomed to traveling light.

For the record, the bags we had are Rick Steve's bags http://travelstore.ricksteves.com/ca...rentId=8&id=42. Be careful, as not all carry on bags will fit in the depth dimension (front to back of trunk). We actually brought three possible bags to the dealership to try them out before going for our European delivery. Only two of the three fit.
