SLK350 & ML550

How to remove a Bluetooth puck

I recently got a ML550 with Bluetooth. What I'd like to do is temporarily remove the Bluetooth puck from the ML550 and connect it to the cables I have in my 2006 SLK350 center console to see if that alone allows Bluetooth to work in my SLK or not.

Never having seen the existing Bluetooth adapter before installation in the ML550, I can't figure out how to remove the adapter from the ML550. I know there is some form of clip on the bottom but I can't see it so I can't figure out how to disengage it. Anyone have any suggestions??

I have it in my SLK 55. I've never attempted to remove. Check this link from another MB series vehicle. Maybe it will help.

Yes, the link helped in understanding the various Bluetooth components but I still can't figure out how to "unclip" the existing Bluetooth puck from its adapter.

Before doing this you should check if your SLK is pre-wired or not, and if its not pre-wired the dealer should add some connection cables so you can have the bluetooth kit working.

If you're looking at the puck, right around the MB symbol there is a black button you can press in...press this in and slide the puck out of the holder...may take you a few seconds to figure out which way it goes, but pressing the button "unclips" the puck, then you slide it out. As stated before, your SLK has to have the pre-wire in place for this to work. Let me know if you have any other questions.
