check engine light, oil in cam sensor
The check engine light came on in my wife's 2003 mercedes 230 kompressor with just 20000 miles on vehicle. I took the car to the dealer and they diagnosed a leaking cam sensor that has wicking oil through the motor harness into the mass air sensor, ox. sensor, engine computer. They told me that they would install new cam sensor and clean all wire connections at a cost of $550.00 new harness not included .I noticed on several web sites that this has been an ongoing problem with the cam sensor leaking and that mercedes has a blocker line kit available for some time. I don't understand if this has been an ongoing problem why mercedes would not contact owners of a potential problem that could be repaired very inexpensively I am curious if anyone has experienced this problem and has received any compensation from mercedes? Any input would be very much appreciated Dave Treuhaft
