Oil Consumption
Hey Guys,
I'm having a little trouble with oil consumption. My car is a w203 m272 3.5. I recently heard that couple of SLK350 owners had their engines replaced due to oil consumption.
I have even found a MB bulletin about the oil consumption with the M272 (which has me thinking this might be a common issue). I was wondering if anyone has had their engine replaced and if so what is the build date on their car. Mine is 07/05 and I have a feeling it was part of the first batch. (06 was when the M272 3.5 was introduced to the w203)

P.S. Below is the procedure Benz checks for oil consumption just in case anyone is having the same issue as I am (I added 3 qts within 4,600 miles)

My understanding, 2005 SLK 350s, manufactured from early model year 2005 (late 2004) through Feb 2005 suffered from oil consumption issues. Some owners received new cars, new engines, and some engine repairs. Not all SLK 350s manufactured during this time frame suffered from excessive oil consumption.
