SLK - 'Steering - pulling to the left'...
Two weeks after taking the car to MB (Birmingham) with the old complaint ‘steering - pulling to the left’, they reset the geometry back to how it was when the car went in and declared revised settings had actually made things worse and they don't know what else they can do to fix the problem.
I have decided to take the car to an independent specialist who claims he can rectify the problem within an hour and a half.
I am of the considered opinion that MB can’t rectify this issue because they are constrained by official MB settings.
On the other hand, the independent will fit MB adjuster bolts enabling the camber and caster settings to be optimised for UK roads.
The car is booked in for this Thursday (25/02/10) so I’ll update this post after the work has been done.

Hi guys - i'm suprised to see there has been no reponse to this post as this is a COMMON problem with MB's in general.
So, you'll be pleased to hear it's now FIXED!
There really is NO NEED for any UK / MB owner to put up with the BS from Mercedes dealers, that is if you have a spare 90 minutes!
Simply drop in at WIM (wheels-inmotion, chesham, buckinghamshire), ask for Tony Bones and take it as read - your problem will be solved.
To reiterate, my car spent 2 weeks in the workshop at MB (birmingham Uk)before the default steering settings were reinstated and the car returned to me with an official 'we simply don't know how to fix the problem'.
MB (birmingham UK) have absolutely DISGRACED themselves (long story but believe me .... yet again).
Decided to go independent and an email from Tony Bones at WIM promised to have the car fixed within 90 minutes!
Car taken to WIM - 90 minutes later - driving like a dream FACT not FICTION
