SLK 350 command module problems
2006 SLK with the cup holder directly above the command module. Watch out you dont spill sweet tea or sweetened coffee or coke, even a small splash. 5 of the buttons on the nav/audio command module are not working. MB dealer wont repair, wants $1700 to put in a new Harman/Becker Modle 9002 unit
MB dealer told me its a common problem. I actually removed the unit & cleaned the locations where I felt the problem was. Now, in addition to the original problem the volume control is in-op. I made it worse.
Too bad there isn't a competent repair facility for this unit. any suggestions?

The problem occcurs only in the head unit but NOT in the nav drive in the trunk, right?
I can have some 1 replace the head unit for you for $600 (OEM NEW). If you live near zincode 92843.
If you need the part and do it yourself, PM me.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I believe your dealer can exchange yours for a rebuilt unit. Have him check.
In any event COMAND is the acronym for this system, command is a word not related to the question.
