Suspension question...

I have a 2006 SLK 350 Sport. I'm about to slap some 19's on it. Anyone have any experience with lowering the SLK? I don't wanna do coilovers..well maybe, but I'm thinking just springs for now. Car has low miles so the shocks are like new.

Which springs give a proper and even drop? Thanks!

Try Eibach springs...

As far as i know they have springs for the 350 they lowered the car for 1inch (front/rear).

If you wanna go lower i recommend a whole suspension system.

You are welcome (Bitte ).

H&R is also not bad but Eibach is a bit better in my opinion.

May H&R have spings they lower your car for 1.4in.

But if you wanna put 19" on it may with 1in. lowering you do a better choose for the comfort...

Hhhmmmm...Eibach isn't too bad at all. Looks pretty evenly dropped. I could go a tad lower though... we'll see...

H&R then, another .3 or .4 inches lower.

What is your objective? Is it a lower look that you are after or is it to improve handling? If the latter, what will be the primary use of the lowered vehicle? In any case, you might want to talk with an experienced suspension engineer for best results. Messing with suspension geometry can be tricky.

Coil overs is the way to go. You don't want to spend money on springs now only to spend more money later on coil overs.

It really depends on what his objective is. If 'low' is all he is after, shorter springs may be all that he needs.

I've had lowering springs installed shortly after owning the SLK. It's been about 5 years now and still no problems. But I don't drive much ~13,000 miles
