2005 SLK 200
2005 SLK 200 Supercharger replacement

Hello all,

I have a 2005 SLK 200 Kompressor with 60,000 miles. A few days ago the engine management light came on and the car has lost a substantial amount of power and makes an intermittent whine noise which seems to be coming from the supercharger.

This was diagnosed by the Mercedes dealership as a broken supercharger (Error Code P0237 Supercharger/Turbocharger Sensor A Circuit Low) and they say they will only replace the whole part and not attempt to repair it.

By all accounts (and lack of info/threads on this issue) the supercharger should not need replacing at this mileage as they are usually very reliable?

Does anyone know if the supercharger could be stripped and fixed rather than replaced and / or whether reconditioned superchargers are available and cheaper than what the dealership propose.

Any advice would be very much appreciated, Thanks
