The SLK 55 AMG applies new standards to the class of high performance roadsters, both with regard to fun and the engineering.
The core item of the SLK 55 AMG is the AMG 5.5-Litre-V8 engine – the only V8 engine in its class. It is the sportive core of Mercedes-AMG with its output values of 265 kwW/360hp and a torque progression of 510 newton meter, which make for an impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4.9 seconds. (4.7 seconds from 0 to 60mpg)
AMG’s newly developed SPEEDSHIFT-7-gear automatic transmission sees to it that the concentrated power of the SLK 55 AMG is being confidently delivered (to the road) . In order to control this amount of power the SLK 55 AMG is supplied with a newly developed composite brake disc at the front axle, which features the amount of stableness as required in motorsports. Likewise, anti-roll bars, suspension and shock absorbers of the AMG undercarriage have been newly engineered.
