I have ordered my Slk350 with the Harmon Karden option.
Now, I have read in countless reviews that the car will be available with a 380 watt speaker system upgrade.
The only option with regards to the speakers that I was offered on the option list was the HK one.
Is this one and the same?
If anyone can confirm this I would be very grateful.
I dont want to mess around with after market Audio equipment.

The only factory oprion is the Logic 7 HK set up at 500 squid.
PS It was traditional in my previous M3 life to refer to them as Karmon Hardons, for obvious childish humour reasons.

So is the HK system any good?
Is it available across the board or only on the SLK?
If it is, does anyone have it and is it worth the money?

P.S the guy on the telly (channel 5's 5th gear program which was on this evening) gave it one hell of a thumbs up!!

Upgrading the HiFi is a really personal thing.
I've never bothered with the KH or BOSE upgrades in the past. though I am familiar with them. My previous C32AMG came with the BOSE standard, but for me I can find better things to do with 500quid, and the standard system is good enough for me. Others disagree, so its really a personal thing. Mate of mine always gets the BOSE/KH option on his BMs and Mercs - he thinks the standard set up is pants. I don't. Mind, I was was amused when he kept winging about the BOSE sound quality in the CLK55 he had at the time - turns out he had the surround settings optimised on the "voice" setting or something, so it did sound crap when playing music.....
Wise choice re the Auto. You can now sleep easy come resale. I saw Ch5 too. It looks fantastic - even in Red (!?). Made a pretty fantastic noise too. I'm worried that the SLK350 might be almost as good as the SLK55!!

Nasty:-worried? I can only hope.
The Tv review was a bit rubbish....Sure he had nothing but praise for the car, but he didnt thrash it which is what i was hoping for.
I wanted to see it being driven on the edge.
I hope Top Gear does a better review soon...
Re garding the sound upgrade, I had the Bose installed on my TT last year and it was brilliant!! I hope the HK is as good, though Im still curious about the 380w system I have read about in more than one article...

Karmon Hardons only avail with either APS50 cheapo nsat nav or the full DVD COMAND.
Unless you're getting a 200, I wouldn't buy an SLK without COMAND. Its certainly more important than KHs.
