This months R&T review of the SLK350!
While I was getting an oil change for our company car, in the waiting room was this month's R&T. They reviewed the updated w203 and R171.
All good things about the w203 (solid build, much better quality materials, like how a MB use to be
)
SLK350 was tested. They liked the engine very much, now it can "hang" with the other cars in it's league :p
They say the manny box is one, if not, the best in the market right now for roadsters. Short-throw shifter, crisp and precise shifts, very very nice manny box this time. way to go MB
All in all, there wasn't anything they disliked about it. They noted the higher quality materials, excellent/solid build as a MB should be, more cabin space, more "macho" than before with the new V6, fast and fun roadster. The big thing was the handling. The new SLK handles like a sports roadster now, like it should have been in the first generation, but MB much improved on it. Steering/handling/ride comfort, all GOOD.
