ESP malfunction

The ESP malfunction light is on and I have a grinding? or ticking? noise while driving. Switching off the ESp does not make the noise go away. When the car is shifted to neutral while in motion the noise remains. Driving the car in reverse, no noise. Any ideas?

Sounds like a wheel speed sensor!

Would that not make noise in forward and reverse. I should also add that the noise seems to come from the center of the car.

Yes, but you really need to put the car on a lift to correctly diagnose the source of the noise. Continued FUYA approach will get you know where!

I am going to borrow a scanner fro a friend to get the code. I only have an OBD scanner to read engine codes. I was trying to figure if I need to spend a fortune on this car. It is worth it, but I can't afford it!
