SLK/R171: Lighting Package Option dropped (for now)

Lighting Package Option dropped (for now)
Was just informed that the infamous "delayed availability" mantra has now been tacked onto the Lighting Package (#319) Option for the 2005 SLK350. We had already heard that the Launch Edition SLK's would be sans the Lighting Package but now it looks like this has been extended to all SLK350's. Of course the AMG SLK's never did have the option of getting the cornering headlamps anyway. My guess is that the bi-xenons and heated washers won't appear on any 2005 SLK's until the AMG's come out later in the year. It is anybody's guess if the cornering headlamps that were supposed to be part of the SLK350's lighting package will ever see the light of night on an SLK in the US.
Curious what our friends on the other side of the pond are being told about bi-xenons, heated washers, and cornering bi-xenon availability for their SLK's????

I had no problem ordering the Bi-xenons here in the UK, and the interior lighting package is standard on my slk350. The cost here for the Bi xenons
is £710, approx $1300.

Well that is the end of all days isnt it. A blinking light globe option being delayed surely means the brand is going to the dogs.

Hope springs eternal
Probably no chance - but wouldn't it be great if the reason the lighting package has become not available is because various of its features (at least the bi-xenons) have become standard on US spec SLK350's?
