I've got a UK SLK350 on loan for four days next week so if anyone is interested to hear how it goes I'll post some opinions later.

I'm currently driving a Honda S2000 so the 350 will have to be VERY good to impress me!

No problem I'll take plenty of pictures and will try some video as well I know how to post the pics but will need some help with the video as I don't have anywhere to host a large file.

How did I get the car for four days?...... I've got an SLK55 on order but insisted that I couldn't complete the deal until I'd tried the 7G gearbox in the 350. Plus my company car scheme cover the insurance so that makes long loans easier to arrange (Merc gave me an SL500 for a week last year and even paid for the petrol!)

SLK55AMG---www.zippyvideos.com is a 100% free place to host a video, but they do have a 5 mb limit on each video you upload. They support avi,mpg,wmv,asf,rm,swf,and mov files. Hope this helps!

Have a video of the car doing donuts :v (just kidding)....I think a must is a video of the car's roaring engine...hear her growl. Also, I would love to see a video of the 22 sec vario-roof....reading the spec about it is one thing, seeing it in action is another. And finally, could someone tell me what's the maximum speed allowed while operating the vario-roof, or can it only be done while stationary.

I think you can operate the roof up to ~5 MPH.

There is a scene in the following German TV review of the SLK where he is operating the roof while moving slow:

A little over 8 minutes into it, he puts the top down while cruising slowly.

It's in German, but the visuals are also good.

I'll see what I can do...... not sure about the donuts though.... I'd be happy to try but the car probably won't play along as you can't turn the traction control off...... in fact can any of the current Mercs do donuts???

Will certainly do a vid of the roof and with a mates help will do some more

Actually now that I've tried finding zippyvideos the website doesn't seem to exist..... the link doesn't work and Google can't find anything when I searched for it.

ok, I found one! http://www.ezarchive.comIt's kind of complicated though, it's free to become a member and very simple to upload your videos, but in order for someone else to view it, they have to become a member too then add you as a "friend"(you'll see). They don't give you a direct URL either....

Yep no problem..... next question...... does anyone know of any free/trial software for editing videos?...... i'd like to cut the videos down to remove any wasted time to keep the file sizes down but don't have any suitable software.

P.S. Editing also makes 0-60 times easy to measure..... cut out all frames before the tacho moves from 0 and cut all out above 60...... resulting video length should then be failry accurate for a 0-60 time!
