I saw a SLK350 today...
Earlier today I saw a silver SLK350 with the standard 10-spoke wheels, driving on hwy 152 right out of Los Banos(california) NW towards Pacheco Pass. However, I thought that they were not available yet except for the dealer demo's, and I doubt it was a demo because they were very far from the nearest dealership(they probably wouldnt travel that far in a demo). But, mostly likely, it was going to the Concours D'Elegance in Pebble beach. I know sort of answered my own question, but I thought I'd share it anyways The car did look great though!!!

You'd be surprised how far they would drive those cars. In Florida for example, a demo was shipped to Jacksonville, and driven to virtually all Mercedes-Benz dealerships from Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Naples, Miami, etc.
The whole reason is to see if the car gets looks; at least so I have been told.

You caught em'
akbro93704,
Good call. I sell in PA and we just had our Sat. AM sales meeting.
My manager has just returned from Southern Cal. last week where MB managers were introduced to the new SLK. He said they had about 30 SLK350s that they drove around for a couple of hours. He said at one point they had a caravan of a couple dozen and were stopped for an "interview" by the CHP.
So yes, there are a few runnning around over there. I am told the release date will be November 1.
He had very positive things to say (of course ) but it sounds like Mercedes has finally made a sports car. 268HP + 6 speed manual + "drop-top". Can't wait to drive one.
